Author Spotlight: Kaylin Peyerk

If you want a story with incredible world

building, knuckle whitening suspense, and a gripping romance, look no further. Kaylin Peyerk's latest release has an ending that you'll blaze through pages just to get to.

Kaylin, thank you so much for stopping by this blog!

Tell me about your book

My book is a medium burn fae paranormal romance.

It is about a woman named Tiana who has the power to use all five of the Earth's elements and is destined to save the realms by ending the Great War. Throughout this story she has romantic connects with the five masters of the elements at the High Fae Academy where she trains. It's romantic, suspenseful, and will keep you hooked until the end.

Such a cool concept! It sounds like you spent a lot of the time building the world and creating engaging characters. What is the hardest part of the writing process/writing this book?

I would say it was finding the perfect ending. It took me five days just to finish the final 2,000 words of the book. However, I finally found the perfect ending that my beta readers both love and hate at the same time. So any future readers beware! (Just kidding!)

Lol. Love it! And that ending is super hard to get right, so no wonder you spent the extra time. Favorite scene to write?

My favorite scene to write was when Tiana first meet Rowan in his solid magical state. It's incredibly intimate and romantic. Plus, you really get to know who Rowan is, what he looks like, and how much he means to Tiana.

Yay, everyone loves a great romance! So, I take it Rowan is your favorite character?

Rowan is my favorite character overall just because he's so funny! He writes so easily through my fingers and makes me laugh in every scene.

Those are the best kind of characters. I love the way you described that. OK, last question. Advice for writers?

To continue at their own pace, and to write to market.

I know people say to write what you enjoy, but you also have to write what sells if you want to eventually become a full time writer. Being an author is both based on creativity and a business model.

That's so true, and so many authors do miss the fact that publishing books is a business. Excellent advice! Thank you so much for joining us, and readers, make sure to check out Kaylin's book and give the author a follow below!

Blurb:

Tiana is an elemental fae who can control all five of the Earth’s elements, but all she’s ever wanted is to have a normal life. Because of this, she has spent her entire existence avoiding the High Fae Academy for gifted supernaturals. After a successful twenty-one years of avoidance, a prophecy describing the next Great War leads academy recruiter Orin to her home. He offers her a new start, an explanation, and training for her wayward power. Tiana can’t help but accept when she feels a draw toward him that leaves her breathless. Little does she know that her powers are more than anyone had bargained for.
